Appointments
We are always happy to see you in the office and do
try as best we can to accommodate your schedule.
When your primary care physician or specialist recommends
that you have a consultation with one of our surgeons, he or she will
give you the name of the surgeon he prefers and our
office telephone number. At the time you call our office
to make your appointment, our telephone system will
tell you which extension to select for the appointment
secretary.
Our appointment secretary will ask a few questions
and will schedule your office visit for a time as convenient
for you and as soon as possible.
Arriving At Our Office
When you arrive in our office for you appointment,
we will ask you to sign in and complete some forms which
are necessary to establish your medical record and bill
your insurance company. In addition to the forms, we
will require a copy of your current insurance card.
Some of you will have completed a registration form
(and other forms) through our website which we request
you bring with you to your appointment.
After your check in process with our receptionist,
one of our nurses will escort you to an examination
room and ask pertinent questions related to your visit.
Our surgeons make every effort to see you as close
to your appointment time as possible, but it is difficult
to judge how long the patient before you will requisre
for his/her visit. We ask that you be patient and understand
that your surgeons will give you the length of time
needed for your visit.
Scheduling An Office Appointment
Our office telephone number is (512) 472-1381 ext.
101 for appointments. When your primary care physician
or other specialist refers you for consultation with
one of our surgeons, he or she will give you the name
of the surgeon in our office that he prefers.
If you are a new patient, our staff will ask you several
questions about medical tests your other physician(s)
may have ordered and about your insurance.
We look forward to seeing you in our office, and our
appointment secretary will schedule your office visit
as soon as we are able.
Scheduling Your Surgery
New patients usually see one of our surgeons in the
office before surgery is scheduled. If, after examination,
surgery is the treatment of choice, you will visit with
one of our surgery schedulers that day to select the
date as convenient for you as the schedule allows, and
to receive your pre-surgical instructions.
Our surgery schedulers, Denese and Phyllis, will make
all of the necessary arrangements at the selected facility
for you, and will also notify your insurance company
for appropriate surgical precertification.
The facility where you will have your surgery will
call you 2-3 days prior to your surgery date to do pre-registration
and advise you when to be at the hospital on the day
or surgery, or when to report for any tests your surgeon
has requested prior to your surgery.
If you have a deductible on your insurance, we will
request a deposit of that deductible amount prior to
your surgery date. If you have no insurance, we will
request a deposit and/or set up payment arrangements
with you.
